I make my own pottery from Amakusa, Kyushu. In recent years, I have also blended clay in gray and clear soil of Shinraku, but Amakusa porcelain stone is still at the center of my work.

Amakusa has a very smooth texture and is highly plastic soil. I've always wanted to make a shape that makes use of this plasticity. Even if you look at the 轆轤 of the "circle" made of bending, breaking, and molding, it looks very comfortable in your eyes. The shape that does not impair the tension is very important for my mold.
I like the celadon of Chinese ancient ceramics and the celadon porcelain of modern artists, so I use reduced firing of gas kilns. The celadon for me reflects "snow". The main reason why I returned to Akita in my hometown after nine years of Mashiko's life was because I wanted to create a work about the winter scenery of Akita.

What is the recipe to eat with Mr. Tamura's bowl?HereYou can see it from .

Mr. Tamura's work is imagined in the winter sky of Akita.
A vessel that feels the beautiful pure white material of Amakusa, and a vessel of color that is gently dyed with its white color.
Mr. Tamura, who studied psychology when he was in college, also has a vessel that thinks of humans. The gray-dyed part is the color that came out of the rice husks of the sake "Shinsei" in Akita Prefecture.
